Virginia McKinnon Mann was born in Wadesboro, North Carolina on May 12th of 1925. She lived at 103 Brent Street with her family until she left to attend the women's college (now UNCG). Eventually Virginia married Keith Mann, and raised their five children in Palo Alto, California. Although she is no longer writing, Virginia has produced many poems and stories throughout her lifetime. These works tell of her childhood in Wadesboro, her marriage, her experience of motherhood, and more.
